Visio_logo VISION – THE NEXT CHAPTER Vision is back! After two rainy editions and a break of three years since 2006, we are proud to announce for the present and the future: VISION – THE NEXT CHAPTER!. Being one of the pioneer outdoor events in continental Europe, the Vision festival has always been a lot more than just your standard electronic party.Heading into its 13th edition, the Vision festival will once again offer ist guests a 24 hour elaborately composed artistic concept of light, sound, colours and acrobatic performances .

All of this will be happen smoothly blended into the unique natural scenery of the Swiss mountains – ultimately, this is a successful Vision tradition! Vision adventures – 1992 to present The first Vision festival was a more or less „illegal indoor event in a closed down plant for roll bearings. In 1993, the festival moved outdoors to a gravel pit between Zürich and Schaffhausen. From there on, Vision grew into the famous and almost legendary festival: charming, full of character and in a unique ambiance. For each new edition, the Vision team looked for novel and exclusive spaces, to be lavishly decorated. Thanks to these efforts, the Vision festival always managed to find its spot in the natural surroundings, in front of unheard-of landscapes, often enough breaking new soil. Quite naturally, this philosophy led to some one-of-a-kind and unforgotten experiences. Vision 2001 in Beatenberg saw a herd of cows entering the dancefloor and in Sunnbühl/Kandersteg the festival area was part of a mountain marathon track. And during all these years, there were always some ingenious visitors who chose to arrive in their parachutes. Just as deeply engraved in our memory are visionary „locations“ like the Engelberg waterfalls, at 2100 meters above sea level, just underneath the Susten pass summit. At night, people were dancing, deeply wrapped in their blankets but warm in their hearts and spirits.

Vision - The Next Chapter
After all these adventurous, wandering years, the Vision festival is slowly coming to a rest. It might not yet be our home for good, but all the while it’s a beautiful spot, just the right space fort he renaissance of the Vision festival.

In 2010, we’re moving to the Thun area, settling on a „sun terrace“ just above Lake Thun at approximately 1000m above sea level, in the idyllic grassland at the foot of a mountain. Cars can be parked at the expressway exit of Thun, from where a festival shuttle bus will take you to the venue. The festival is in walking distance from the bus stop. The festival location is spacious but not unlimited, so we recommend using the advance ticket sales in order to secure your beeing part of the next chapter of the Vision voyage.

Sven, Richie, Ricardo and The Orb Vision - The Next Chapter is going to be a family affair! Without any doubt, Sven Väth can’t be missed, being a dear guest since the 2nd edition of Vision. We were also very proud to have an exclusive track from Sven on the 10th anniversary compilation CD. (by the way: artists who are well established today like Serafin or Kalabrese made their debut on this compilation.) Another familiar face at Vision is Ricardo Villalobos, not just at the decks. In 2002,
we spotted him on the conga drums, playing a concert together with Mambotour. And already for the 3rd time, we’re welcoming Richie Hawtin to the Vision festival this summer. After all, Vision has always been and will continue to be a „family thing“ – for the artists and all our faithful visitors alike.

Next to this iconic triumvirate of DJs, we’re especially proud to bring you one of the formative electronic acts of the nineties: The Orb! A regular guest to the legendary Glastonbury festival, The Orb will be taking you from the early years of DekaDance
and Vision right into the present and future of this festival. Originators of timeless classics such as „Little Fluffy Clouds“, the appearance of The Orb at Vision 2010 is truly something out of the ordinary.

Also in all other details, we’re remaining true to ourselves. Vision has always been known for taking special care of elaborate setups including various fancy extras, such as pyrotechnical performances and visuals and a lot more. The festival area in Thun will feature two big tents and one open air stage with more than 25 artists providing the perfect sound in this ambience.
As a matter of course for an open air festival like Vision, the squad of DJs and laptop acts will be topped off by bands and on-stage performances.

Join us on the sun terrace in Thun and become a part of VISION – The Next Chapter!
