NO_Logo_CMYK"The flag keeps flying" is the motto at the 16th NATURE ONE in Kastellaun, Rhineland-Palatinate, from 30 July to 1 August. And the flags fluttering around the Pydna missile base are truly international: 60,000 young people from all over Europe partying totally peacefully for four full days on 4 head areas and 19 club floors. Paul van Dyk, Carl Cox, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten and DJ Hell are among the 300-strong line-up.

For years now NATURE ONE has been the most popular festival for electronic music in Germany. Over 60,000 fans are expected to converge on the 16th edition, with one in five coming from the other European countries. "Everyone speaks the same language - the language of music, of tolerance and of open-mindedness", as the official festival booklet says. NATURE ONE is known for being an especially peaceful gathering; the police and the authorities also speak of a festival "without any violence whatsoever". It is this message that the organisers have encapsulated with their motto "The flag keeps flying".

With one tent after another, the visitors stay in the 120-hectare "Camping-Village" from the Thursday to the Monday, many of them with their national flag hoisted. "This is where joyful European unity is lived". Everyone's really friendly and open, and
together they celebrate a long festival weekend - without any conflicts or stressful moments. We'd like this to move more centre stage again", says Oliver Vordemvenne of event organiser I-Motion. The "language of the music" is electronic. Over
300 DJs and live acts from around the world will be coming to "promulgate" it in the forests of the rolling Hunsrück hills. All-stars such as Paul van Dyk (Berlin), Chris Liebing (Frankfurt), Armin van Buuren (Leiden), Carl Cox (London) and Westbam
(Berlin) are just as much a part of NATURE ONE as the bunkers in the former maximum security area of the Pydna missile base.

Yet this year too, the line-up is one of the freshest and most innovative in the festival scene. Moguai will be appearing as a live act for the first time, and with Gareth Emery (Southampton), Dash Berlin (The Hague) und Filo & Peri (New York), three top trance acts will be giving their NatureOne debut. NATURE ONE is at the same time a meeting of the DJ generations, with young stars like Felix Kröcher, Sven Wittekind and Klaudia Gawlas come face to face with their erstwhile idols such as
Dave Clarke, Timo Maas and DJ Hell. The Classic Terminal will see a reunion with Dr. Motte (Berlin) and Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo (The Hague).

In addition to the four main stages, clubs and organisers from Germany and neighbouring countries will be showcasing their sounds on a total of 19 more floors. In and on the bunkers and in various marquees. The line-up is put together from the clubs' resident DJs and DJ friends of theirs. The sounds range from hard core to trance, from house to techno, with the clubs coming from such places as Berlin (Tresor), Würzburg (Airport), Wuppertal (Butan Club) and Cologne (Elektroküche). But also from Holland (Thunderdome), Switzerland (Energy) and Belgium (Bass Bookings).

NATURE ONE actually gets under way on the Thursday (29.7) at the "Mixery-Opening" in the "Camping-Village". The media partners Radio bigFM and sunshine live are broadcasting live from NATURE ONE and there will be follow-up reports and features afterwards on the music station VIVA.
