 The latest in Los Angeles' night scene, Nacional is a Cuban themed, multi-floor venue brought to you by the owners of such hot spots as Tengu and The Ivar.Take a break from typical Los Angeles lounges packed full of hipsters and sweaty men in order to visit Nacional. The dual-level bar has a relaxed Cuban theme accentuated by large photographs of a man smoking a Cuban cigar on one wall and suede leather ottomans scattered throughout. A fireplace surrounded by the cut end of logs gives the Nacional club a cozier feel, after all, how many Los Angeles bars feature a fireplace? The downstairs lounge has the dance floor, DJ booth, and one of the full service bars. The other bar is upstairs in the lounge that also has an outside patio for those who want to puff on a stogie which, of course, is encouraged at Nacional. A Los Angeles DJ plays retro hip-hop, rock, and other types of dance music on nights that the club is open to the public. Taking its decor from 40's and 50's Cuban architecture Nacional's 4100 square feet include two sull service bars, an upstairs lounge with an adjascent outdoor patio, and a downstairs lounge with a dance floor and fully equipped DJ booth.
