Jeff Bennett
 In 1975 Jeff was produced by his parents in WarsawPoland, but moved to Sweden in 1981 and lives sincethen in Malmoe Sweden.Jeff who was formerly called Mike Pung has beeninvolved in electronic music since 1992 but it all beganas a bedroom thing that has since then evolved into ahabit.

He started creating music in 1994 and got hooked on itdirectly, but it took until 1998 before his first single wasto come out on his own label Maskros Music.Since that single he has released over 50 singles onlabels like Poker flat, Episode, Treibstoff, Intrinsicdesign, Konvex Konkav, Jamayka, Morris audio, regularetc.The first album by Jeff Bennett was released in thebeginning of the summer 2003 on Episode. The next oneis due for release during 2006.In 1994 he and a partner opened a record store called Cosmic One Records that became thefirst electronic record store in Malmoe. With the opening of the record store the DJ career gota boost and he started playing on various venues.A year after the store was opened Jeff & his record store partner Jim Groovy started makingtheir own one-off parties and clubs in various sizes.

His longest residency was in a house clubcalled Thank God It's Friday were he played almost every Friday for over a year. He hasplayed at clubs & parties like: Fabric (London), Otto zutz (The edge, Barcelona), Fusionfestival 2002 (Germany), Ostgut (Berlin), Terry’s cafe (Frankfurt), PolarTV (Berlin), Barracca(Spain), The Loft (Spain) + many more.....In 1996 Jeff & Jim started their first label Azurite records. Jeff started his own label MaskrosMusic in 1998. And the year 2000 two new labels called Phunctional & Kung fu dub we'restarted by Jeff. The only label that is still alive from that era is Kung Fu dub, which hasrecently been frozen up from its 3year sleep with some nice upcoming releases and remixes.After moving on from the record store Jeff decided to move to Oslo/Norway for newinspirations. After 6months of Norway the path towards Malmoe/Sweden was once again thechoice and this is the base of Jeff’s whereabouts until further.

Influences:
The earliest influences came from Detroit people like Derrick May, Juan Atkins & KevinSaunderson, but also from Richie Hawtin's label Plus 8 and the artist there like Speedy J,Kenny Larkin etc.Europe also had a big impact on him with artists like Stefan Roberts, 808 state, KLF,dreadzone, Terry lee brown Junior, Tikiman & labels like Plastic city, Poker Flat, SVEK,Circulation, early Network releases + many more.Also a lot of reggae & dub artist like Augustus Pablo, Lee Perry, Mad Professor, Andy Horace,King Tubby, Barrington levy + many more.

Future:
A couple of 12" are also to be released this year on labels like: Middle rec, Plastic City,KGBeats, Zebra3, Sensei +more……..Jeff has finished his new album which will be released later 2006 on Plastic City.And of course being a DJ as well brings a lot of inspiration & impressions to ones music fromall the different places he visits creating new vibes and sounds.....
